The Experienced First Line Supervisor program is specifically designed to develop leaders that will drive the future of our organization. This position is a leadership role at BNSF Railway. These individuals lead a diverse workgroup to safely and efficiently accomplish work assignments and goals that are in line with the company's vision.
Work Location: BNSF System Wide : Could include:Chicago, IL; Albuquerque, NM; Kansas City, KS; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK

Salary Range:
72,900
RELOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED.
**This position may be filled at any of our locations across the 28 states that BNSF Railway operates. Candidates must be willing to relocate**
TRAINING:The Experienced First Line Supervisor program begins with a fast:paced, intensive training program that includes:Two (2) weeks orientation conducted at our company headquarters in Fort Worth, TX; Twoto three (2:3) weeks' technical (e.g. rules, safety) and personnel training conducted at our Technical Training Center (TTC) in Overland Park, KS; and associated on:the:job field training conducted at assigned location.
DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES: Upon completion of training, Experienced First Line Supervisor Engineering new hires may be placed in one of the following teams as a supervisor to BNSF employees, contractors, or consultants:
1. TRACK
:SUPERVISION
:Supervise existing track maintenance projects on a designated territory.
:Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies.
:Supervise maintenance and construction employees in a union environment.
:MANAGEMENT
:Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel.
:Execute divisional plans, monitor and manage costs.
:Conduct operational tests, implement safety programs.
:COMMUNICATION
:Interface and coordinate with the Transportation Department, including Dispatchers and Trainmasters, to execute the maintenance plan.
:Work with local, county and state agencies.
2. SIGNAL
:SUPERVISION
:Supervise existing signal and various other electronic controls/signal maintenance projects, as well as new signal construction projects on a designated territory.
:Supervise signal technicians, maintainers and other new construction employees in a union environment.
:MANAGEMENT
:Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel.
:Execute divisional plans, monitor and manage costs.
:Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies.
:Conduct operational tests, implement safety programs.
:COMMUNICATION
:Interface and coordinate with other Engineering Department personnel, as well as with the Transportation Department, including Dispatchers and Trainmasters, to execute signal maintenance and construction projects.
:Work with local, county and state agencies.
3. STRUCTURES
- SUPERVISION
:Supervise existing bridge and tunnel inspection and maintenance projects, as well as new bridge construction projects on a designated territory.
:Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies.
:Supervise bridge inspectors and other maintenance and construction employees in a union environment.
- MANAGEMENT
:
Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel.
:Execute divisional plans, monitor and manage costs.
:Conduct operational tests, implement safety programs.
- COMMUNICATION
:Interface and coordinate with other Engineering Department personnel, as well as with the TransportationDepartment, including Dispatchers and Trainmasters, to execute bridge maintenance and construction projects.
:Work with local, county and state agencies.
WORKING CONDITIONS
:
:Work in a 24x 7 operations environment including nights, weekends, evenings and holidays, on:call or available for emergency situations.
